I'm sure you have read "Private Demons: The Life of Shirley Jackson" by Judy Oppenheimer. How would you compare your book to hers?

Ruth Franklin Thanks for asking! My book draws on hundreds of previously unseen letters and other unpublished materials from Jackson's archive, as well as interviews with her friends and family. You'll find a lot of new stories and information about her relationship with Stanley Hyman, her family life, and the inspiration and process for each of her books.
