How do you deal with writer’s block?

C. Steven Blue I don't. I am a poet and, even though most poets have writer's block, I do not. That is because I only write when I am inspired . . . when it pours out of me. Other writers have said, "You should write something everyday. You should work at polishing your craft." Although this is the recommendation for most writers, it just is not how I work. If I try and force something, it shows. My poetry has poured out of me since I was a boy and there is something very fulfilling about completing a piece that just comes, of it's own volition, from inspiration.
