I'm planning on starting the series having never read it before. Should I read this first or leave it until later as I know it was only recently published?

This just gives the characters you have already 'met' in the series more 'flesh' on their bones so to speak. Besides I still think Jamie is nothing special without Claire and vice versa.(less)
