Paramanathan asked Rita Ames:

How do get the necessary inspiration with creative idea to identify the right concept for your creations? Do you meditate?

Rita Ames It's difficult to meditate as a writer. My experience is that when an idea enters my mind it festers there and grows. There is a light bulb moment when the plot angle kicks in and then I have the most urgent need to open a word page and start getting the opening paragraph down. Those opening words must work on me just as they should a new reader. If my imagination wants to continue past that first few words then I have the beginning of my next book. I currently have three totally different genres on the go at the moment. This stops any writers block as I can switch lanes fast when stuck in word traffic. Personally I need the stimulation of a busy brain and therefore meditation does not factor. I am sure other writers may find that it would help them focus within the calm. The joy of books and authors is that we are all so very different. I hope this answers your question. It took me a while to think it through. Rita.
