Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Rebecca L. Frencl FIRST OF THE FALLEN was supposed to be a short story. Then it was supposed to be a novella. I was intrigued by the angels Nathanial and Semiazas in Ascent of the Fallen. What would make an angel fall? What would make him turn away from the light? As for Nathanial--how did he lose his eye? Their stories actually started to parallel one another which make them a natural fit to put together in one volume. From there the stories actually wove around each other--going from one book with two stories to one cohesive novel.
