Subhash Chandra B asked Nilesh Rathod:

Hi Nilesh, As your first book is of fiction genre based on the premise of corporate world, I guess there might not have been a need for intense research as you are from corporate background. I'm sure your next work 'The Emissary' definitely requires good amount of research as it's going to be a historical fiction. How you are coping up with this and how difficult its turning out to be compared to your first work?

Nilesh Rathod Reading is the tool for writing. I do not research in the real sense of the meaning, I merely read. Whatever I can retain then is used to build the creative story that spins out, it may or may not be connected to the research. Also, research helps you avoid factual errors in a story more than help create the story in the first place. In a work of fiction they are a mere accessory.

And yes the amount of reading I must go through for my next novel is just too much, I would be visiting some of the places my story will visit soon. The Emissary is based in Dandi, Vrindavan, Berlin, Autswitz & Delhi.
