Do you have any suggestions for writing a book?

Cookie O'Gorman Hi Lisa, and thank you for your question! Hmm...it's probably been said before, but here are some of my suggestions for writing a book. Write a book that you really love. I mean, if you don't love it and won't stand by it, why will anyone else? Also, write characters who you can relate to. They don't need to be exactly like you (or anything like you), but I like to write characters I could see myself being friends with and who I would root for. If you can, write the summary first! I didn't do this with my first novel, but I have with every one since, and it has helped keep me focused. Know that writing takes time, and don't beat yourself up. It should be an enjoyable process overall. In the end, you create something that you love and, if you're lucky, you make a book others may love as well :).
