How did you decide to create a likeness between vampires and wolves? It's a brilliant choice, but not one I've ever expected.

great question. I decided vampires were closer to the animal kingdom, evolutionally speaking, and that of all the animals in the world they were most like wolves in their habits and desires. Then I did a lot of research on wolves and used that information to shape my vampire behavior.

With the huge success of the All Souls Trilogy, do you worry that if you start a new series it will not quite live up to that success? Personally, I think you are so incredibly talented that everything you write will be a bestseller, but I just wonder if it crosses your mind.

In SoN's tilt yard scene, Louisa tells Hancock that Diana will bring down the de Clermonts, fulfilling Gerbert's ancient prophecy to Ysabeau. "Beware the witch with the blood of the lion and the wolf, for with it she shall destroy the children of the night." This is never mentioned again. I understand the first part, but what is the significance/intent of "...she shall destroy the children of the night?"
