After looking at a few reviews, I understand that Britt-Marie is a character from "My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry". Would it be important to read that book first?

Britt-Marie was a minor character in that book and we were given some surface level information about her background. That made it easier for me to jump into "Brit-Marie Was Here".
