After looking at a few reviews, I understand that Britt-Marie is a character from "My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry". Would it be important to read that book first?

All you need to know is that she WAS in the 2nd book and this is a story about her "after" she dumps her husband (whew). That's really all you need to know.(less)
