I'm not a scientist but I do have a better than average grasp on the way that science affects our daily world. So to me when I read science fiction I think to myself that many of the premises I could see one day coming to pass. But the way you present the magic in your tales, it seems like it's a byproduct of science. I know that you have a much greater understanding of science and AI, is magic a byproduct of science?

Science is simply the study of what is. If there is 'magic' then it's part of what is, and the methodical/logical/structured study of it is science.

How much time did you spend and what kind of process did you use, working on how much technology, buildings, roads etc, would be left for your characters to use and explore? Also, what level the tech would be at? How characters would view it all through their 'medieval' lense? And how to use it in such a way that it wouldn't ruin the fantasy 'vibe'?
