A Goodreads user asked Lisa Maxwell:

How do you get past writers block?

Lisa Maxwell Hi Emily-
First, I moan and complain a lot to my husband and family. Then I drink a lot of coffee. Then I figure out what I'm afraid of.

For me, writer's block has more to do with fear (I can't write that, I can't write *that*) than anything else. Sometimes, I get stuck while I'm writing, but that often means there's something that came earlier that's wrong--a path leading me into a dead end rather than the rest of the maze.

I'm not sure that there's any easy way to get past writer's block, but then, I'm not sure I really believe in writer's block as an outside thing. Anything to get out of my own head usually helps.
