Hello. In my English class I had to pick a Book to read and do a project about the author and the book. I picked to read Deeper, because I read Tunnels last year and I loved it. I just wanted to ask you a few questions for my project: What's your favorite book you've written? Where do you get your ideas for writing? Who inspired you to write? What type of books and genres do you read? Thank you, Rocio :)

Hi Rocio, so sorry not to have replied to you before now. Hope I'm not too late for your project. Deeper is in fact my favourite of the series because it was somewhere to go during a period of my life that wasn't great - that's probably why it's quite claustrophobic and a little darker than some of the other books. It does mean a lot to me though. I don't know where my ideas come from - all over, really. I'm sure some turn up as a result of all the books I've read, and the films and TV I've watched. Others are the result of many hours of staring at the screen asking myself "What comes next?" And some just throw themselves at me and bowl me over - it's the best thing in the world when that happens. I read all sorts of stuff - not MG or for young readers. I'm currently reading another book by Mishima, the Japanese author. Although they're translations, his work has such purity to it. And I have to admit I don't read enough these days - I do try to, but what usually happens is that I drift off into a reverie about whatever I'm working on at the time. Hope that all helps with your project. Kind regards, Roderick

I'm a sixth grader and I loved your books and I read all of them, so when you left us readers on a cliffhanger in the last book, about how Will was becoming like a Styx and how the earth began its journey home, so I was wondering if you could write a seventh book? Sincerely, Mohith, a loyal reader.
