Goodreads asked Lance Erlick:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Lance Erlick My best ideas and resolution of tough problems often come while I’m not thinking about writing. Often that happens while I’m sleeping, which annoys my wife. I keep a pad of paper by the bed and often wake in the morning with scribbling I vaguely recall making. When I’m writing and get stumped, I set aside what I’m working on and pick up something else, either another story I’m working on or editing or other related work that doesn’t require my solving the problem right then. When I come back later, I find the block has become easier to move.
