Sorry for the delayed response, Sara! Sometimes these questions slip right past me.
Perhaps strangely, I find action scene really difficult. I think it's because I always feel the pressure of going up against the movies, which are filled with cool moves and special effects. Fiction just doesn't do cool kung fu moves all that well. As a result, I have to find a way (as does everyone writing fight scenes) to animate the fight with emotional content rather than parkour and quarterstaff spinning, if you know what I mean. Whenever I'm faced with a big, set-piece fight, this difficult looms...
