Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Julie Berry I had never heard of the Albigensian Crusade, and the inquisitions that followed it, in 13th Century Southern France before (or Provence as it was then). When I stumbled upon it during a history lecture, I became intrigued and started searching out books on the subject. The time period allowed me to combine my interest in medieval history with my interest in the female mystics. I've loved learning more about this fascinating, if dark, period of history.
