Goodreads asked Sade Fadipe:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Sade Fadipe I guess it may have been to preserve the memory of certain experiences that I had as a child. I started my early life with a wonderful foster family in Kent. Rolvenden to be precise - which was a very serene rural setting; where picking strawberries and looking for mines were favourite past times. At the age of six my parents relocated to Nigeria, taking my older brother, I and my memories with them. We lived in Lagos and any one who knows Lagos would know that there is naturally nothing, quiet about the place for Lagos is synonymous with life-in-excess. It took a lot of getting used to. So it wasn't surprising that some of my most memorable times in Nigeria, were those spent far away from the busy bustle of Lagos life; at Grandad's who owned an expanse of land, a lemon plantation and a juice factory, where there was lots to explore. Being at Grandad's made me feel special and I often thought of how similar both worlds (though so far apart) were. Picking strawberries and plucking lemons. Some of those experiences I share in my book and in others to come.
