Goodreads asked T.R. Locke:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

T.R. Locke Write. I think the only way to deal with it is to start writing. You can also read, but if writing is not happening, reading can keep it from happening even longer. Again, I'm a professional writer. I'm not a hobbyist. If you're a hobbyist, then I guess you do something to get inspired or to gin up some excitement about the art. I get up and write like other people get up and go to the office to do their job. How would they deal with a roadblock on the way to work? Turn around and go home? No. They go around it. How does a basketball player deal with having a shot blocked? She/he shoots again. If you have nothing to say, then go get something to say--live life, fill up. If you have something to say, say it.
