I absolutely loved reading The Palace of Illusions. What makes it even more fascinating is that the same tale will look so different if told from the eyes of others (Kunti, Yudhisthir, Karna for example). A brilliant read! :) My question to you is - While you are writing, do you plan everything out beforehand, or do you twist and turn the plot as you go along?

so glad you enjoyed Palace of Illusions. yes, that is what fascinated me about the Mahabharat-- there could be so many narrative angles! I would love it if you wrote up a review for Goodreads. no, I don't plan everything ahead of time. I have to allow the plot to grow organically, otherwise it seems forced to me.

I just read your book the Palace of Illusions. I am Indian and Hindu and I have grown up with the story of Mahabharata, just like you said you had in your introduction. Reading this has changed my entire perspective on the epic tale. I still have goosebumps from reading it. How did you get this idea to write Draupadi's viewpoint in the Mahabharata?
