I was telling someone about my recurring nightmares, and they suggested I write them down. I eventually thought: "Why not make a short story anthology based on them, and publish it?" Hence, it was born! I've had many recurring nightmares, so it was rather easy for me to write and flesh them out into actual stories. I thought 13 was too cliche, and ended up with 12 short stories. I've had many more, though.
