Deborah Harkness Yes I am a feminist. Yes, feminism influenced the All Souls Trilogy. It was fascinating to write about a woman who believed that women and men were equal and about a man who was raised to think women were the weaker sex.

In the second book, dId you consider making the spoken language sound more like how people would have been speaking in the 1590's? You commented on Diana's speech not fitting and yet the characters sound totally contemporary.
