How do you get inspired to write?

Amanda Kyle Williams I'm not always inspired to write when I sit down to write. This is the truth about writing full time. And the truth about inspiration is that if you wait for it, you're probably not going to get a book written. You sit down and slog through the hard part, building a foundation word-by-word. You give yourself permission to write your ideas free of the internal editor that's slowing you down, and that's when the inspiration comes for me, after I've been at my desk for a couple of hours treating it like a job. If I stick with it long enough, the clouds will part, and the ideas will come.
