Can you read the Jeeves series out of order as standalone books?

Larry Shackley It helps to read them in order because certain relationships develop over time, but each story is self-contained. The first time I read them, I skipped all over. I'm reading them again now straight through and enjoying that more. If you want to start, pick one from the 1940s, which were the strongest titles.
Christie You can, but sometimes you might get surprises you would have rather encountered in their original context.
Estott Yes, there are often references to
past events but they are explained
Mitali Yes, certainly. They are all mostly standalone books. There are references to characters and events from past books in some of them, but you can easily figure out who's who and what's what once you start reading.
Teri-K Definitely they can be read out of order. And they are all stand alones - no cliff hangers from one book to the next.
