the Goodreads Team asked Tessa Afshar:

What Shakespeare play do you think everyone should read once? Why?

Tessa Afshar Cool question. Hamlet has some of the most quotable moments in literature. We still use some of Will's lines from that play in everyday speech over four hundred years after it was written. The Taming of the Shrew has several timeless insults, which has its own merit. Then there is Twelfth Night, which forces us to see how ludicrously misguided male female relationships can sometimes become. Ultimately, I would say pick one that fits your personality. I would be happy if I never came near Romeo and Juliet again. But it might be just the right play for you.
