A Goodreads user asked Stuart Gibbs:

Do you enjoy leaving cliff-hangers at the end of your stories? Because i've noticed that in a lot of your novels, there are plenty of cliff-hangers. Especially in Spaced Out.

Stuart Gibbs Rainbowz4U -

I do enjoy leaving cliff-hangers, but a very certain kind of cliff-hanger. I don't like to leave off in the middle of action, as though I've cut off in the middle of the story. My thought is that, with Spaced Out, the mystery has been solved, so the story is finished, but I wanted to provide just a hint of excitement to come in the next book.
