Lots of things: my childhood, real events that happened to me, things that happened around me, conversations with friends, the death of Stephen Lawrence, working in the city during the 1980s, etc.

They said extra points for iambic pentameter, and so: When looking back 'pon books of long ago Which was it, which inspired you to write? (For surely, though the Bard inspired, I know, Did other authors bring you to the light?) (Sorry for the vague phrasing. Essentially, I've read 0&X, which seems to feature Shakespeare as a prominent inspiration. But was there any other specific author inspired your work?)
