(view spoiler)[Since others are asking about your books and not just #ShakespeareWeek, what ever happened to Temperance Brennan? That storyline of disappearing characters just seemed to...disappear. (hide spoiler)]
Jasper Fforde
The whole Temperance Brennan thing was part of a 'Character Exchange Programme' idea I did with Kathy Reichs. She had Temperance reading a Thursday Next novel, and I had Temperance appear in my book. All the stuff I wrote I sent to her for approval, and she generously agreed to everything - a fine lady. I also had to agree that the characters were not transferable if I sold the movie rights. That's the tune of it!

Greetings from Zimbabwe, Jasper! I'm interested to know what drives you move from one series to another. Why, for example, do you decide to go back to the Nursery Crimes series rather than get to the next episode of Shades of Grey, or to write another Dragonslayer rather than a Thursday Next? (That was nothing to do with Shakespeare, I'm afraid!)

I hate to be that person but not as much as I hate not knowing though continually hoping it will be *this year* each year, and so my question is: when will the next Shades of Grey book be released? I have read Jennifer Strange's adventures happily and was delighted with new installments of Thursday Next, but through those years I have held onto a great excitement for forthcoming stories from Eddie Russett's world.

Hello! English professor and novelist here, specializing in all things Shakespeare. When is Thursday--or Jack, for that matter--going to pair up with a kickass Shakespeare female partner, like Portia or Beatrice? These women must get so bored with caskets, parties, battles of wits, and trials that strip a man of his very identity. Surely a bit of detective work would be just the thing for them?
