Is there any romance? Are there any light-hearted parts? Can people tell me what they think without spoiling me?

I wouldn't necessarily describe the relationship in the novel as a romance; it's treated very factually, as the main character is trying to heal from her amnesia. While it has its infrequent light moments, this novel is by no means a light read. The themes and events are very dark- definitely not something you'll remember as a teen chick lit. It's very similar in themes to We Were Liars by E. Lockhart, if you're familiar with that.

There's no real romance, just a little bit of "back-story" relating to the incident. I wouldn't say there are any light-hearted parts either... A LOT of internal conflict, since Jill is struggling to remember what happened. I thought it was a great read, maybe for somebody else, though... I got bored with it at about 2/3 in, and sat through the rest of it just for the sake of finishing the book. I'm a little bit more of a sci-fi fan, though, so I'm probably just biased. Haha.

Yes to the romance, but it is more just a thread that is a part of the story, rather than something that is thrown in your face from the first page; so-so to the light-hearted parts (I would edge more on the not really, in that the entire book is Jill trying to regain her memory but there are some lighter tones sprinkled throughout so as to keep the book from being too dark; I thought this book was well written and it kept me interested until the very last page, and honestly even after I finished it. I had to sit there for like 10 minutes having to process what I had just read. Loved it. Hope this helps!
