Just finished "What was mine" and LOVED it! As a mother I found this book so fascinating and could relate to both Marilyn and Lucy. Can't wait to read more of your work. When can we expect another book? :)

Thanks for reading the book and for liking it, Marissa. I'm glad you related to it, as a mother. Part of my writing the book was an exploration of motherhood--all the many ways there are to be a mother and to mother a child who isn't your biological offspring. (Although I hope I haven't made a case for kidnapping one!) I've already started my next novel which will also revolve around a crime committed by someone who doesn't consider herself a criminal. This time, the crime will be set in the 1800s. We've just renovated an old house in Connecticut and I've gained a lot of knowledge about old houses that I want to put to fictional use! Thank you for asking. And for your generous read.

Just finished listening to "What Was Mine" and loved it. I am a mom, but I also have a sister who adopted 7 children. I couldn't help but wonder how I would feel if my nephews & nieces were suddenly not my nephews & nieces. As far as I am concerned they are my family despite my sister not giving birth to any of them. Will always look at IKEA and remember this book! How much research went into the Chinese culture?

Just wanted to THANK YOU for what was mine. It was such a gut wrenching and rewarding experience. When I was done I just sat and smiled. You words were a deep and introspective look into all the characters. As a grandparent it connected with me on so many levels. This is one of my all time favorite books. Here is the required question mark so this will be submitted?
