Writing happens very un-romantically for me. I don't go to a seaside retreat, I don't have a ritual involving a candle, a tenderloin steak and a parrot, I don't drink heavily or get in fights in bars. For me, writing happens in the midst of a busy life of fatherhood, other commitments, and so on. What most inspires me to write, therefore, is simply having/making the time to do it.
