Hi Cornelia! I've been a huge fan of yours since I was a child and years later you're still one of my favorite authors! Thank you so much for writing the Inkworld trilogy and bringing amazing characters to life! Also, I wanted to ask if there is anything you could tell us about Basta's, Firefox's or the Piper's backstories, or any extra facts about them at all? Thank you!

Cornelia Funke Yoanna, thank you very much for such flattering words! And for being such a devoted Inkworlder:) As for Basta, Firefox and the Piper- i admit I didn't try to find out about their backstory, as I am not very fond of my villains. My compassion mostly stays with their victims. They are so broken and twisted and make the world so much darker, that I don't find it easy to forgive them- although it for sure would be interesting to find out what broke them and how they became such cruel tools of terror. The only villain I explored in more detail is Orpheus (although I despise him:)
