What made you decide to become an author?

Joseph Max Lewis Hi Kari, the trigger was the attack on 911. So many people were of the "why do they hate us?" frame of mind, I wrote a non-fiction book called the Citizen's Guide to the War on Terror to explain things from the perspective of one who served on a special forces detachment and lived in the middle east for a year. The book made it to committee, but was never published. I enjoyed writing, but wasn't qualified to write any other non-fiction book, so I started writing short stories, then novels.
