Goodreads asked Malorie Blackman:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Malorie Blackman I've had writer's block twice and each time was scary because I wasn't sure if I'd ever be able to write anything again. The first time my writer's block only lasted a couple of weeks, but the second time it lasted three or four months. During the second bout of writer's block, I immersed myself in lots of creative activities; I started piano lessons, I visited museums and art galleries, I saw a number of plays at the theatre, went to the cinema a lot and bought a book that would teach me to draw. And it worked. After a few weeks, I got an idea for a new book and when I sat down at my computer, I found I could write once again - thank goodness.
