Lisa See I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I forgot to look at Goodreads for a while, I guess. I've never heard the term "realistic feminist" before, but I like it a lot. Are you asking if I think that Grace and May in Shanghai Girls are true to their time? I think so. I come from a large Chinese American family. Many of my aunties came her in the 1930s. I based much of Grace and May's story on their lives of my aunties and women like them.
