asked:
Can someone explain to me what the overall moral/theme was? because I picked up on a couple of them such as humanities need to overpower the people around them, the need to love and be loved and the need for conformity in human nature. Did anyone notice any other themes in different characters or an overall one for the book?

My question too
Andrew
Hey, that's my question too? After all the book's subtitle is : An Apologue, i.e. an allegorical narrative with a moral. What is the moral of this contrived piece created by... human intelligence ? After reading all 171 pages of this Giller laureate, mine is too perplexed and disappointed to come up with anything plausible. I dig yours, but... what's new .
