The Nest is stunning! I've been trying to get into the head of my character for weeks, and it's only getting more and more difficult. Any tips on separating your own thoughts from the thoughts of the characters?

Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney Thank you! Sometimes it takes time to get the voice of a character down -- and many many drafts. I would say you just have to keep writing and maybe do some exercises where you 'flush' out your character (what does he/she wear, where does she shop, eat, worry about, do for pleasure, etc) to try to get the voice to come to you with more clarity. You just have to write your way into it and not give up if it's coming slowly.
