Hey Ruta! I'm from the U.S and I LOVE YOUR BOOKS! Out of The Easy is my personal favorite (I'm sorry I'm fangirling so much right now). I was just wondering what is your most favorite novel that you have written or someone else? Also, can I feature this on my blog?(http://floralpatternbooks.blogspot.com/)

Hello Amena!
Thanks so much for your kind words and for submitting a question. Sure, I'd be honored if you featured the reply on your blog.
It's so hard to choose a favorite of the novels I've written. That would be like choosing a favorite child. :) But I will say that I experienced the most joy while writing "Out of the Easy." I had such fun writing that novel and the characters are still "with" me. Writing "Between Shades of Gray" and "Salt to the Sea" was very transformative, but also emotionally challenging to stay present within the tragedy and suffering. But writing "Out of the Easy" was pure joy!

Hi Ruta, I remember you visited my school (International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, Japan) last year and I just want to say what a riveting book it was. I wanted to ask- how were you able to capture the details of life on the train and at the camp? How were you able to get in contact with survivors?

Hi! First I want to say you have become one of my favorite authors over the last year, all three of your books have been fantastic! Question: Are you currently working on a new book and if so, can you hit at what it might be about? Maybe just a time period reference? I'm hoping you'll write another book like Out of the Easy! It was such an interesting read with such a fantastic main character!

Hi Ruta! My name is María and I am from Spain. I read your books Between Shades of grey and Out of the easy last year , and I loved them. I think they are very inspirational. I have remembered the books since I finished reading them. Was the book Out of the easy based on true events? Thank you.
