Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Steven VanPatten Killer Genius started with watching and reading all of the installments of the Hannibal Lecter stories and wondering to myself, what if a black woman had Hannibal Lecter's will and mental resources? So that's what I wrote. The big difference is I replaced Hannibal's taste for human flesh with a desire for social change.
