Do you get to have input on the book cover? I loved the book but if it had not been chosen for a book discussion, I probably would not have picked it up because the cover is so underwhelming.

I have input on the covers, but I don't have final approval. My publisher does all sorts of market research when creating a cover and then they submit the covers to test groups to vote on, etc. It's interesting, often foreign publishers will create a new cover their own edition. For example, you can see some of the foreign editions here:
