I would love to know what inspired you to write "Salt to the sea" and "Between shades of gray" and was wondering if you are going to write another book within the same topic? I loved both Of the books they were really inspiring! ;)

I am drawn to hidden history and stories of strength through struggle, so I look for topics that contain those elements. "Salt to the Sea" and "Between Shades of Gray" both contain themes of hope, courage, love, loss and the miraculous nature of the human spirit. Yes, I will continue to write on those themes, but I hope to do it in a unique way each time.

Hello Ruta! I'm a YA librarian & a fan of your books- my teens really love them! I remember when Between Shades of Gray and Fifty Shades of Grey came out and were being confused with each other- it was funny! Anyways, I could really picture your books as movies; if you could cast the four narrators in Salt to the Sea who would you choose? (If this ever happened, I hope they bring you in for scripting!)
