Start with Trainspotting and learn about characters first. Much easier and shorter to read. If you enjoy it, continue with Porno, very entertaining after Trainspotting. Come back to this one after you acquire a good taste for the series. Skag Boys is a guaranteed first class reading experience but a bit harsh to swallow as the first book. It's kinda like Star Wars :)
