When I was reading the Gone series, the question that frequently pops into my mind was how do you keep in being consistent in portraying your characters when there's basically a lot of them and with different personalities at that?

Michael Grant I have a very unsatisfying answer: I don't know. I can do it, but I don't really know how. In fact, I'm considering writing a book on writing which would also be an autobiography and maybe in the course of writing that book I'll figure out how to do my job. The job I'm already doing, but which I don't quite understand.

One of things I like most about your books is that you don't sugar coat anything. Instead, you give it more literary flavor. There's nothing more delicious in books than when the story is told the way it would happen, even if it includes blood and gore. What do you think influenced this approach in your writing?
