(view spoiler)[Hi Brian, I have just finished reading The Last Mortal Bond and I loved the trilogy so much! I liked that you said in the acknowledgements that this is a love story and I kind of understand that, even if the outcome is pretty sad. Did you ever considered, at some point, the possibility of an happy ending for the major characters or did you really wanted hordes of fans crying? Thank you for your time! (hide spoiler)]

I'm so glad you enjoyed the books! I actually didn't think the ending was too tragic, although a lot of readers, like you, see it as really, really dark. Kaden and Triste die, of course, but both find love and humanity before doing so. Adare gets her son back, and although she's pretty beaten down, I think she's ready to rule. Valyn DOES have a very dark plot arc, but I'm not finished with him. In fact, I'm not finished with any of them. All three of the Malkeenians are so YOUNG at the end of TLMB. Hello sir :) Just reread your amazing series again, it's like meeting an old friend you just click back into place with. I have a question about the Csestriim, i know they are long lived but would they look in their 20's, 30's, 40's? Also i wondered if you could give some clues about the sorts of things the Ancient Csestriim Leeches tampered with, things that supposedly frightened the gods?
