I find inspiration overrated, because it's (for me) totally passive. Inspiration hits when I'm doing a routine task like folding laundry or showering. It doesn't take work. But writing an actual book does. It can be hard to sit down and have the discipline to stay off of Twitter and Instagram and Pottermore. Sometimes when I sit down to write, all I want to do is take yet another Buzzfeed quiz to find out what type of cheese/cupcake/jungle animal I am. But that doesn't put words on the page. So as much as I enjoy inspiration, doing the actual work of writing matters a lot more.
