Have you read, or were you influenced, by the Flashman novels in creating Prince Jalan's character ? I read and enjoyed all of the Flashman books, as I have the Jalan books I should add :-), and see lots of similarities in the dashing, bluff coward who somehow comes out as the hero so was curious. In About the Author section of Limited Wish, it says: He is the author of the Broken Empire trilogy, the Red Queen’s War trilogy, and the Book of the Ancestor series. Why is Book of the Ancestor listed as series when it is also a trilogy? P.S. Limited Wish is amazing :)
