I really enjoyed this, but I was confused by the ending and the conversation between Mrs Forbes and Mrs Daikin re. cat running away due to the taxi on the night of the fire - it alludes (or I'm just not getting it) that Mrs Bishop didn't die??? - But I thought it was very clear that at the beginning of the story that she did..... or was Mrs Forbes talking about her cat???
