Do you write long-hand? I can never type more than one sentence on my computer. Is it easier on a computer?

Liz Fielding No. I was a secretary before I became a writer so my typing speed is fast. My first attempt at a romance was typed on an old portable. These days I write direct to the screen and only print off pages when I'm revising. But. Lots of writers do write longhand. Jill Mansell certainly does.

When you tell people that you are a romance book author, how do they react? When I read romance, my peers make fun of me as if romance is silly, but I think many writers include a lot of valuable information in their stories.
