Does anyone have any thoughts on the passage towards the end of the book, when Eileen wonders how her father would have reacted had he found Rebecca tied down in their basement, as she had Mrs. Polk? I can't really interpret it - does Eileen suggest she would have done that to Rebecca had she come to her house in the end? Or is it just idle musing, and I'm overinterpreting?
