You just start. There's no magic, no muse, no perfect moment. So open a document and put words in it, and don't worry about making it perfect till you're done. Hope that helps!

Hi Kristan,I must admit that I've been introduced to your writing recently but I've fallen in love with it rather quickly, one of the books that haven't been able to abandon my head is My one and only, I think is a masterpiece and I'm so in love with that story. My question is how do you manage to inject so much emotion into a story?Do you ever base your characters or situations in things you have lived yourself?
