Melanie asked Dave Cullen:

After reading "Columbine," I starting viewing Eric and Dylan as humans rather than monsters they are portrayed in the media. I also greatly empathized with their parents, particularly the Klebolds. Have you read, or will you read, Sue Klebold's book "A Mother's Reckoning"?

Dave Cullen Thanks, Melanie. I'm really glad it had that effect.

I started Sue's book, but after all the stress among survivors leading up to it, and watching her first 20/20 interview and writing a response that night for Vanity Fair (working all night on it, into the next day), and the stuff dredged up writing my new epilogue . . . all of that hit me like a wave the weekend of her book release.

I know my own PTSD/depression warning signs now, and those were less warning signs than actually plunging back into depression. So I read a few pages and then took a step back decided it's not healthy for me at this time. So I set it aside. I'm not sure when/if I can ever go back.

From the bit I've read and all I've heard from her, I'm very impressed.
